«Anna Stereopoulou & David Mata – Live in Athens» is the Live Recording of the debut joint concert of the two artists. The event took place on Thursday, 13th of September 2018, at 9pm, at Zp87 venue, in Athens (Greece) with the kind support of Insituto Cervantes de Atenas.
Oneiric sound-scapes, delicate synths and passionate passages, form a contemplative ambiance, inspired by the Athenian landscapes and hidden corners, as walked through during David’s first visit to the Greek capital, and as later welcomed by Anna’s memories. But above all, a voyage through a continuous pulse rotation, between Madrid and Athens, between Earth and Space.
The concert -of 82 minutes in Total Length- is based on Live Improvisation between Piano, Electronic and Processed Objects, creating an improvised dialogue between Stereopoulou‘s Pianistic and Key weaving and Erissoma‘s Live Electronics‘ paintings. Far from being a conceptual work in its background, the Live Development proposes that the listener oneself is the one who constructs their own narration depending on the emotional state and the moment in which it produces an active and deep, emotional Listening.
The current collaboration between David Mata / Erissoma and Anna Stereopoulou is the fruit of their long term artistic relationship, seeking an innovative path of co-creation, based on both trust and freedom. Their collaborative work is greatly inspired by musical ‘meetings’ such as the art of Ryuichi Sakamoto with Fennesz / Taylor Deupree / Alva Noto, Murcof, Maryanne Amacher, Pink Floyd, Stavros Lantsias, and it aims to the promotion and development of the Modern Classical, Electronica and Contemporary Jazz genres, yet expressed through the prism of the two artists’ unique ‘sound’, as well as by their common cultural Mediterranean origins.

Το album «Live in Athens» των Anna Stereopoulou & David Mata πρόκειται για την Ζωντανή Ηχογράφηση του ντεμπούτου κοινού κονσέρτου -Ηλεκτρο-Ακουστικής Μουσικής- των δύο καλλιτεχνών. Η εκδήλωση πραγματοποιήθηκε την Πέμπτη, 13 Σεπτεμβρίου 2018, στις 9μμ, στο Zp87, στην Αθήνα, με την ευγενική υποστήριξη του ‘Ινστιτούτου Θερβάντες της Αθήνας‘.
Ονειρικά ηχοτοπία, ντελικάτα synthesizer και παθιασμένα περάσματα, δημιουργούν μια ατμόσφαιρα στοχασμού, εμπνευσμένη από τα τοπία και τις κρυμμένες γωνιές της Αθήνας, όπως περπατήθηκαν από τον Δαυίδ, κατά την πρώτη του επίσκεψη στην ελληνική πρωτεύουσα, και αργότερα συνδυάστηκαν ευπρόσδεκτα με τις αναμνήσεις της Άννας. Κυρίως, όμως, πρόκειται για ένα ταξείδι εντός μιας συνεχούς παλμικής περιστροφής, μεταξύ Μαδρίτης και Αθήνας, μεταξύ Γης και Διαστήματος.
Η συναυλία -συνολικής διάρκειας 82 λεπτών– βασίζεται στον Ζωντανό Αυτοσχεδιασμό μεταξύ Πιάνου και Electronic & Processed Objects, δημιουργώντας έναν αυτοσχεδιαστικό διάλογο μεταξύ των Πιανιστικών “κυμάτων” της Άννας Στερεοπούλου και τους Ηλεκτρονικούς Μουσικούς “πίνακες” του Erissoma. Εκτός του εννοιολογικού υπόβαθρου του έργου, η Ζωντανή του Ανάπτυξη προτείνει την ελεύθερη αφηγηματική μετάφραση του ήχου από τον κάθε ακροατή, όπως ο ίδιος επηρεάζεται από την συναισθηματική του κατάσταση και την στιγμή που βιώνει μια (ενεργή και εσωτερική) Ακρόαση.
Η τρέχουσα συνεργασία μεταξύ του David Mata / Erissoma και της Άννας Στερεοπούλου πρόκειται για τον καρπό της μακρόχρονης καλλιτεχνικής τους σχέσης, που αναζητά ένα καινοτόμο μονοπάτι συν-δημιουργίας, βασισμένο στην εμπιστοσύνη και την ελευθερία. Η εν λόγω συνεργασία εμπνέεται σε μεγάλο βαθμό από μουσικές ‘συναντήσεις’, όπως αυτές του Ryuichi Sakamoto με τους Fennesz – Taylor Deupree – Alva Noto, καθώς και από την μουσική του Murcof, της Maryanne Amacher, των Pink Floyd, αλλά και του Σταύρου Λάντσια. Στόχος των δύο καλλιτεχνών είναι η προώθηση και ανάπτυξη της Modern Classical, της Electronica και της Σύγχρονης Jazz μουσικής, όπως όμως εκφράζεται μέσα από το προσωπικό, ηχητικό τους πρίσμα, καθώς και από τις κοινές πολιτιστικές Μεσογειακές τους ρίζες.
