ένα οπτικο-ακουστικό θέαμα που εστιάζει στον ήχο
[ελλ] Την Δευτέρα 31 Μαρτίου 2014 η συνθέτις Άννα Στερεοπούλου προσκάλεσε το κοινό στην παρουσίαση του θέματος του νέου της project « circe : the black cut : ». Η συζήτηση φιλοξενήθηκε στον χώρο του «Home Kitchen» (6:00 μ.μ. – 10.00 μ.μ.), όπου η Άννα μίλησε για το εν λόγω έργο της, καθώς και για τα καλλιτεχνικά και επιστημονικά δίκτυα που το υποστηρίζουν. Επίσης, στη συζήτηση συμμετείχαν διαδικτυακά ο Dario Vergani και η Susanne Kirchmayr -εκπρόσωποι των Different Music / (He)art of the Event και female:pressure, αντίστοιχα- δίνοντας την ευκαιρία για ανταλλαγή απόψεων, αντικατοπτρίζοντας το ίδιο το μήνυμα του project, για μια πιο ευρεία έμπνευση και συν-δημιουργία.
[eng] On Monday, March 31st, the composer Anna Stereopoulou invited the audience at the presentation of the theme of her new project, titled « circe : the black cut : ». The conversation was hosted in the space of «Home Kitchen» (Athens, GR / 6:00 pm – 10.00 pm), where Anna spoke about her research and introduced the artistic and scientific networks supporting and encouraging the project. Mr. Dario Vergani and Ms. Susanne Kirchmayr -representatives of Different Music / (He)art of the Event and female:pressure, respectively- joined the conversation -via Skype- creating the motives for an interactive views’ exchange, something which is also reflected through the project’s message; a broader inspiration and co-creation.

…a brief written presentation follows below :
[ελλ] Το θεματικό αυτό project είναι το αποτέλεσμα μιας εν εξελίξει έρευνας της συνθέτιδος, εμπνευσμένο από τα έργα της «…oneirograph…v.5.spindle» (2009-2010) και «electron» [ήλεκτρον] (2011) -με θέμα τα Όνειρα (επιστήμη/φιλοσοφία) και την δομή και λειτουργία του Ανθρώπινου Αυτιού και την Ισορροπία του Σώματος- και, σε μεγάλο ποσοστό, βασισμένο στον Δίσκο της Φαιστού. Η συνεργασία της με τον ερευνητή Δρ. Gareth Owens* -συντονιστή της «ανάγνωσης» του αινίγματος που κρύβει ο Δίσκος της Φαιστού- της έδωσε την δυνατότητα να εξελίξει και ολοκληρώσει την μορφή του έργου της.
Στοιχεία από τον ελληνικό και άλλους πολιτισμούς [Μητέρα Γη (γνωστή και ως Πότνια, Εστία, Κίρκη, Αριάδνη, Arianrhod), η δυαδικότητα Εστίας – Ερμή (κέντρο-οργάνωση / κίνηση-επικοινωνία)], ο Σουπρεματισμός και η Αναμόρφωση (Τέχνες, Φιλοσοφία, Ψυχολογία), συνθέτουν τον χάρτη πάνω στον οποίο η συνθέτις εντοπίζει το σημείο τομής του μεταβατικού σταδίου της εποχής μας θίγοντας την ανάγκη για ανταλλαγή γνώσεων, καθώς και για νέους (απο)συμβολισμούς στην τέχνη και την κοινωνία, όπως προτείνει ο Βρετανός συνθέτης Cornelius Cardew με την γραφική παράσταση [graphic score] της σύνθεσής του Treatise.
Η Κίρκη είναι ο καθρέφτης μας και φέρει δύο ιδιότητες: Στάχτη και Φως, στα μάτια μας. Στόχος μας να την κοιτάξουμε με θάρρος και να σπάσουμε τα δεσμά της, ώστε να βρούμε την διέξοδο από τον προσωπικό και κοινωνικό μας λαβύρινθο. Ο Ήχος είναι ο βοηθητικός μίτος της Αριάδνης· είναι ο χάρτης της (Μητέρας) Φύσης, ο οποίος αποκαλύπτει την δομή και λειτουργία της κοινωνίας μας. Το μέλλον συμβαίνει τώρα και μας καλεί έξω. Μπορούμε να δούμε τον ήχο του;
Το project της Άννας Στερεοπούλου είναι δομημένο έτσι ώστε να προσφέρει τον χώρο και για αυτοσχεδιασμό μέσα από συνεργασίες με διάφορους καλλιτέχνες, δίνοντας την δυνατότητα και ελευθερία εξέλιξής του, ενώ ο εικαστικός /οπτικο-ακουστικός του σχεδιασμός επικεντρώνεται στην σπουδαιότητα του Ήχου και την αλληλεπίδραση καλλιτεχνικών και μουσικών ρευμάτων, κάτι που παρατηρείται και στην μουσική της, η οποία περικλείει στοιχεία από ambient, minimalism, jazz, electro-acoustic, psychedelic, drum’n’bass, με κεντρικό άξονα πάντα το πιάνο.
Για το 2015, η συνθέτις έχει ήδη προσκληθεί να παρουσιάσει το project σε κάποιες από τις σημαντικότερες ευρωπαϊκές πολιτιστικές εκθέσεις και εκδηλώσεις. Για την Ελλάδα, προετοιμάζεται μια διαφορετική παρουσίαση, ενώ μια πρώτη ηχητική ματιά θα παρουσιαστεί στις 25 Απριλίου 2014, στο Support Act της Άννας Στερεοπούλου στην συναυλία των Chaostar (Fuzz club, Αθήνα). Η πρεμιέρα του « circe : the black cut : » θα πραγματοποιηθεί τον ερχόμενο Μάϊο στο Μιλάνο της Ιταλίας [Piano City Festival].

[eng] The theme-based project « circe : the black cut : » is the result of an ongoing research by the composer Anna Stereopoulou, as inspired by her works «…oneirograph…v.5.spindle» (2009-2010) and «electron» (2011) -subjects of Dreams [science (i.e. brain-waves, dream-state, etc.) / philosophy (ancient Asclepeions)] and the structure and function of the Human Ear & the Balance of Body- and largely based on the the Phaistos Disk. Her collaboration with the researcher Dr. Gareth Owens* -coordinator of the enigma’ s ‘reading’ hidden in the Phaistos Disk- gave her the opportunity to develop and complete the form of her project.
Elements borrowed by the Greek and other World cultures [Mother Earth (also known as Potnia, Hestia, Circe, Ariadne, Arianrhod), the Hestia – Hermes duality (centre-organisation / motion-communication)], the Suprematism and the Anamorphosis (Arts, Philosophy, Psychology), compose the ‘map’ on which the composer spots the cutting edge of the transition stage of our era, and she mentions the need for information exchange and the creation of new (de)codings, as the British composer Cornelius Cardew suggests with the graphic score of his composition Treatise.
Circe is our mirror and carries two qualities: Dust and Light in our eyes. Our aim is to dare looking into her/(our) eyes and break the shackles so we manage to find the way out of our personal and social labyrinth. Sound is Ariadne’s helping thread; it is the map of (Mother) Earth, revealing the structure and function of our society. The future Is happening now and it’s calling us out. Can we see its sound?
Anna Stereopoulou‘s project « circe : the black cut : » is structured in a way so it can also offer the ‘space’ for improvisation through various collaborations with other artists, giving the possibility and freedom of its development, while its stage/audio-visual design is focusing on the importance of Sound and the interaction between different art and music genres, as noticed already in Anna’s music, consisting of elements such as ambient, minimalism, jazz, electro-acoustic, psychedelic, drum’n’bass, and always fused with piano.
