2014; a new project is born… after an ongoing research, the direction of which was reset in November 2012 and after being greatly inspired by Cornelius Cardew‘s composition Treatise and the new codes suggested through its graphic scores, giving freedom of interpretation to the performer. Its form is also inspired by the shape and symbols /codes of the Phaistos Disk and the painting The Black Square (by Kazimir Malevich), exchibited for first time a century ago (1915). Also, as implied in the title, the privilaege of woman to give Life indicates the importance to study and learn from Nature; something which inspires and is showcased in the project (various arts’ creations), through several World (Mother) Goddesses from the ancient times until today.
2015; some months after the project’s launch (March 31st, 2014) and its 1st presentation (December 15th – 21st, 2014), c i r c e :the black cut: has already formed a shape of creation, information exchange and real support between all of its participants. c i r c e :the black cut: is a multidimensional project and wishes not to be categorised in a specific music /art genre. The term “open”, which could characterise it in a way, is based on the spherical shape of the Disk (of Phaistos), however there is no limit that would create a definition of a ‘closed circle’. Its goal is to inspire any person involved in it, whether through their participation via creation or just through reading the analysis of the subject or attending the presentation(s). There is also the wish of energising our senses, as well as meeting, accepting and collaborating with each other, within or outside this work.
At the same time, the project’s inspirational element of the duality of goddess Hestia and god Hermes (Mercury) give it the opportunity to move in two ways:
– Festivals / Concerts / Exhibitions, etc., at which the specific project is proposed and/or I am kindly invited to participate. In this case, the music performed is partly own compositions, set in a way that give the space of live improvisation with other musicians, djs or any form of artists.
– A special presentation already took place in Greece (December 15th – 21st, 2014 / Athens, Gr. – Worldwide), including various arts, while the next one is already being scheduled. More details will be announced.
In both cases, if you are an artist who wishes to get involved in the project, or if you are a festival /event organiser, you are welcome to send an email at sinetoaeaea[at]gmail[dot]com writing the title of the project and your suggestion. As mentioned above, please, let your imagination free to think of the nature of the (artistic) collaboration, or you are welcome to read the analysis /alda notes (diary) /1st presentation programme (scroll to end of page), to get a taste of the work’s steps so far (section: κίρκη : circe ~ ).
Creating new codes means breaking the rules; through Art! 
In parallel, the research motivating the project focuses on the brain activity and function, as a development of the two previous projects «…oneirograph…v.5.spindle» (2009-2010) and «electron» (2011), inspired by the subjects of Dreams [science (i.e. brain-waves, dream-state, etc.) / philosophy (ancient Asclepeions)] and the structure and function of the Human Ear & the Balance of Body, respectively. If you are a scientist or an educator interested in being involved offering information via a fruitful discussion, or helping to organise a seminar, your contribution would be precious. Please, feel free to contact me, too.
I also find important to share the main sparkle given in order to bring this project in life, which is no other than the ‘so-called’ crisis of our times. In history, it is common to notice a special flourish of the arts during times of struggle and, in my opinion, this is the case for our era, too.
As we read Ioannis Chryssafis‘s description of the entire literary effort of Aug. Strindberg (top pf page / anamorphosis : re-vision), it is about time to break any shackles keeping us imprisoned in an ‘aeaea‘ (also known as the mythical island of Circe) and motivate ourselves to create and realise our inner dreams. It is a great necessity that we must finally really listen to our heart, but also to the ones next to us, both metaphorically (i.e. sincere encouraging and sharing) and literally (i.e. correct sound setups avoiding any damage to the human body and psychology).
Closing, I would like to thank all international networks and platforms (arts / music) encouraging and believing in this project, all people accepting the invitation to attend the launch meeting(s) (March 31, 2014 + June 6, 2015 / Athens, GR) and each person who helped to organise the first presentation, but also, everyone setting us obstacles and barriers, inspiring us to break them and obtain knowledge through collaboration, in order to create free.
