World + Italy (Padua) Premiere of the composition «Alpha» by Anna Stereopoulou, performed by I Solisti Veneti, on the occasion of the celebration of the Women’s Day 2018.
«Alpha» is a 2001 composition by Anna Stereopoulou, subtitled Letters for Orchestra, first written for Symphony Orchestra and arranged for Clarinet, Horn and Chamber String Orchestra, in November 2017, after a new edition of the work’s sections. «Alpha» is inspired by John Adams’s «The Chairman Dances» (subtitled Foxtrot for Orchestra / 1985) and it is creating a ‘harmonic – chaotic musical conversation’, leading to a reconciliation at its finale.
«Alpha» is one of the 5+1 winning works of the World Competition for a composition intended for “I Solisti Veneti” organized by the Adkins Chiti Foundation “Donne in Musica“.
The concert will take place at the Auditorium “Cesare Pollini” [Via Carlo Cassan, 17 Padova, Italy], on Thursday, 8th of March 2018, at 20.45 with a special performance by “I Solisti Veneti“, directed by Maestro Claudio Scimone.
